LSKM 211 Introduction

Hello everyone.

I am Charné Vorster, a 20 year old second year student at NWU. I live a super small town, Graaff-Reinet. My town is so small there are no robots and the nearest City to us is about 3 hours away. Everyone knows everyone here. It is a very small community where everyone stands together as one. I love being surrounded by nature, hence the reason for me living in such a small town.

Well why do I want to be a teacher? I love every child, no matter who they are or how old they are. Although I love everyone, I feel the small kiddos don’t have their own voice. I want to be their voice and I want to be the change in their lives. Going from low priority to high priority. I believe a child’s education and personal life depends on how the foundation was build at an early age.

I am very passionate about a lot of things. I am a very hyper, super active person so everything pulls my attention. I love nature, animals. I love crafting, playing, organizing and so much more, so, it really depends on the day.

I am not sure how I feel about this module yet. It is still early to tell what we are going to do. I believe it is mostly about music, and I love music. Music is like an escape from reality. Music can take you anywhere you would like to be in your mind. I believe we will learn more about music itself in education. I think we would be taught how to use the art of music in education and how students will benefit on music. Since I sang in the choir for most of my childhood I know a thing or two about music.

I am so excited for this module and I can not wait to tell you more about LSKM 221 and to take you with me on my journey.

Goodbye for now,

Charne Vorster
